Passages From India
In 1947 during partition Ameen Marfani fled Rajkot in India for Karachi Pakistan at the same time Shankar fled Lahore in Pakistan for Delhi in India while Abdullah crossed from Indian to Pakistani Punjab. The 3 men all eventually migrated a 2nd time (voluntarily) and settled, married, lived and died in Manchester. In 2006 they gather at Ameen Marfani’s house to tell their stories to Neil Henderson of the BBC of both their original forced and their 2nd voluntary migrations.
